The American League-leading Detroit Tigers recalled left-hander Matt Gage on Thursday, while right-hander Beau Brieske was optioned to Triple-A Toledo.To make room on the 40-man roster, right-hander Jackson Jobe (elbow) was moved to the 60-day injured list. The rookie reportedly is headed for Tommy John surgery.Gage, 32, last pitched in the major leagues in 2023 with the Houston Astros. He is 0-1 with a 1.83 ERA in 16 relief appearances for the Astros and Toronto Blue Jays (2022).
